A Cherished Memory - A nice way to remember a past loved one on your wedding day.
When I was 12 my Mother passed away of cancer. I always knew that getting married without her by my side would be really hard. But I honestly never thought it would have been as hard as it was. Getting married is such a huge part of of your life and you want to share it with the people you love the most. Weddings bring up a lot of emotions especially if you are missing someone that has passed.
The way I remembered my Mom on my wedding day was a simple framed photo of her on her wedding day. I had it in the room where I was getting ready and I took a photo with the frame. It is a small gesture but it is a photo I will treasure.

Indian Bride Wedding Cake Toppers
I love to create toppers for unique couples. I have been wanting to make a bride in a sari so bad and finally got the chance to do it! I hand painted the organza to create an illusion of the pattern on the sari. I had so much fun making these toppers....I hope I get more orders like this one soon! Wink wink....tell your friends about DSMeeBee!!
Heirloom Fabric Petal and Button Wedding Bouquet
I used fabric that was hemmed off of my bridesmaid’s dresses
to make the pink petals and other white fabric I found at my local fabric store
for contrast. My bouquet is larger and has buttons within the petals. My bridesmaid’s
have smaller bouquets with matching petals to mine and white ostrich feather embellishments.
Alone each bouquet is beautiful in its own right but all together they really
are amazing....like friends. As a personal touch I added a pinned photo of my Mother who
passed away when I was 12 years old at the base of my bouquet. I also added a
personal touch on each one of the bridesmaid’s bouquets by adding the initial
of their first names on each of the handles.
These bouquets perfectly match the feeling and look of my
romantic soft wedding theme. But the great thing about DIY is that you can take
an idea for someone and make it your own by changing the colors and materials.
Hope you ENJOY!
